Born in Cape Town, Nic Tamlin’s interest in interior design was first piqued when his parents bought and renovated their family home – a project which he became passionate about. This experience lead to experimentation with scrap metal which he turned into a shelving system with glass shelves.
After school Nic went to Europe where he spent all his spare time searching out the best designed restaurants, shops and furniture – a habit he still practices.
Returning to South Africa, Nic Tamlin enrolled at Boston House Design School after which he gained experience with some of the top local design companies working on prestigious projects in retail, residential and corporate design.
Today Nic works on projects of all sizes – from wine farms to city apartments – always keeping a focus on strong layout, the elegant use of materials, special attention to detail and good functional design. “I make an effort to keep abreast of green design technologies which I use in most of my work.”
