We were approached by a busy inner city bakery, Marcelino’s (Eurohaus) to create a cosy, informal meeting place where people could gather for a meal, coffee or something sweet. The owner bakers can be seen crafting their products in the bakery daily, using only the finest ingredients as they have done since the 1960′s. I felt the new space should reflect this with the use of real materials like raw steel and timber with history…the eco friendly oak cladding was reclaimed from an old fishing boat.

A collection of recycled antique bent wood chairs combined with upholstered benches create cosy seating corners, and some interesting lighting features like a cluster of jam jar lights give a special ambiance to the eatery.
